Starting Monday, Oct. 28, crews will begin performing maintenance operations to replace a culvert on U.S. Highway 40 between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs. The work is expected to last a week and motorists should plan for 24/7 delays.
The construction will occur near mileposts 166-167. Motorists should expect delays up to 20 minutes, one-lane alternating traffic and full stops. Vehicles will be guided by signs and flaggers from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. From 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. a temporary traffic signal will guide traffic. Speed will be reduced to 40 mph in work zones.
The culvert maintenance was originally scheduled for last week but was postponed due to weather, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
