CDOT to complete Muddy Pass work, routine maintenance

Reid Tulley

CDOT will be completing routine maintenance throughout Grand County this summer with crews fixing potholes, guard rails and any other small projects that will need to be completed. CDOT is also planning a fix on Highway 40 just west of the junction with Highway 14, which goes to Walden.

The section of Highway 40 that will undergo construction to fix an ongoing landslide and road damage problem is called Muddy Pass.

This section of highway has been undergoing regular fixes due to the active landside state of the area. A contractor will build a retaining wall that will hopefully stop the problem from happening, according to CDOT Spokeswoman Ashley Mohr.
