Centennial pot shop ban in court
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) – A medical marijuana dispensary in the Denver suburb of Centennial is taking the town to court after it was shut down.
CannaMart is suing Centennial officials over its revoked business license. The dispensary was in business about a month before the city forced it to close, saying the shop violates federal law.
The dispensary says it was granted a business license and should be allowed to do business.
The city argues that the pot shop lied on its business license application and that city ordinances allow Centennial to ban marijuana dispensaries.
A decision could offer guidance for cities wanting to get rid of dispensaries.
