Challengers unseat Sumrall, Shapiro in Fraser

April 2, 2014, 10:15 p.m. — The Town of Fraser will be welcoming four new trustees. Katy Soles won the most votes at 142, followed by Cody Clayton Taylor with 133 votes, Andy Miller with 95 votes and Jane Mather with 84 votes. Incumbents Steve Sumrall and Vesta Shapiro were unseated with 68 and 67 votes, respectively.

Granby will be getting one new trustee. Challenger Robin A. Trainor, who formerly served on the town board, received the most votes at 73. Incumbents Ken Coatney and Deborah Shaw will retain their positions with 70 and 69 votes, respectively. It was a close race. Incumbent Charles LaBrake was unseated with 66 votes, followed by Paul Robertson with 65 votes and Becky Johnson with 43 votes.

April 2, 2014, 8:00 p.m. — In the first election results reported, Grand Lake Town Clerk Ronda Kolinske said town trustee candidates Lisa Jenkins, Lance Sabo and Jeanie Baird had won the election. Jenkins swept with 89 votes, while Sabo received 65 and Baird received 58. The newly elected trustees will replace Tom Ludwig, Jim Peterson, and Tom Weydert. None of these former trustees sought re-election.
