Changes to paper aren’t for better

To the Editor:

What are you doing to our local newspaper?

Don’t think we didn’t notice the smaller type and the smaller pages. It makes it harder for us to read.

It’s been a couple weeks now and we’re still trying to figure out the classified ad section. This is assuming the captions are spelled correctly. What does #$% mean?

I called the other day to place a free item and was told I had to pay for it unless I did it online. This doesn’t exactly foster a sense of community.

We were willing to put up with yet another news item on Tiger Woods winning again, but this was a trade-off for Byron Hetzler’s great photos. We were willing to compromise on that one.

But, we do have to say the final straw was arbitrarily changing the comics without notice. Getting rid of Tumbleweeds for Doonesbury shows your true blue color.

Shouldn’t you have gotten to know us and asked what we would like and not like in our local paper instead of barnstorming in here and showing us yokels how to do it? We might as well buy the Post.
