Charter bus rolls near Fraser

Special to the Sky-Hi News

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 8, a charter bus belonging to Grace Coach Lines was traveling westbound on Grand County Road 50, just west of Fraser, Colorado.

While the driver, Mr. Harold Coiner, was negotiating a right hand curve on a snow packed mountain road, the bus partially drove off the right side of the roadway and rolled one-quarter time onto its right side. The bus came to rest in a deep embankment of snow.

The bus was transporting 39 occupants from the Foothills Bible Church of Littleton to the Crooked Creek Young Life Ranch near Fraser. Several occupants were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons. Of the few injuries reported, all were minor and non-life threatening.

The driver was issued a summons for careless driving resulting in bodily injury.

Neither alcohol nor excessive speed were factors of the crash.
