Christmas Dinner prep under way in Granby

Preparations are being made for the 20th Annual Senior (55 and over) Christmas Dinner in Granby, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Town Hall.

The dinner is free to seniors 55 and older, and donations will be accepted for everyone else. Entertainment provided by local children will begin at 11 a.m., and the Granby Fire Department will start serving dinner at noon.

A gift will be provided for each senior, and many items will be raffled throughout the day.

The Senior Dinner has become a holiday tradition during the past two decades as the volunteer Holiday Helpers have served free meals to hundreds of area seniors. The meal caters not only to those who find themselves apart from family for the holidays, but also to all who enjoy the warmth of community company for a traditional holiday meal.

Donations needed

The Holiday Helpers are again providing this wonderful dinner, a gift and entertainment to our beloved seniors. They can’t do it without the help they receive every year from the citizens and businesses of Grand County. The Helpers are asking for donations to ensure every senior will have a wonderful Christmas.

Donations may be sent to:
