Christopher Wood: ‘Stimulus’ dollars don’t stay in Grand County
Although I think it’s great that the (solar) senior center is getting some serious updates that are no doubt needed, it’s a real shame that the governor’s distribution of pass through dollars is going to do just that: pass right through the county to Boulder and Silverthorne. As far as I’m concerned, other than the obvious good to come to the senior center, this is all just smoke and our local foundations were duped into donating another $93,000 that will pass through the county as well. Can you tell me how the county’s businesses or residents are really benefiting from these American Recovery and Reinvestment dollars? I can’t see it myself.
