Colorado avalanche deaths rise to 4

A missing snowmobiler in Jackson County was confirmed dead Monday evening, one of two brothers who went missing after an avalanche on the east side of Buffalo Pass Sunday afternoon.

The father of the two brothers located the other one alive in a snow cave, and the pair were spotted by a search-and-rescue helicopter.

Their names have not been released, but family and friends told the Steamboat Today newspaper that they were in their 20s and worked as auto mechanics in Fort Collins.



The newspaper reported that the brothers were part of a of a group of snowmobilers from Fort Collins, two of whom had called for help Saturday night after they got stuck near their Grizzly Creek campsite.
