Colorado River District to provide updates on top water challenges, priorities this spring
This spring, the Colorado River District will be hitting 11 communities in western Colorado to discuss water issues facing the basin for its annual “State of the River” meetings.
During the meetings, the governmental agency will share localized insights on river flow forecasts as well as updates on the Colorado River system as a whole, water projects and priorities, challenges facing water users as well as an update on its acquisition of the Shoshone Water Rights in Glenwood Canyon. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions about the factors shaping the river system.
The meetings run from mid-March to mid-May and will stretch across the Western Slope, spanning from the lower Gunnison River, Uncompahgre River and Yampa River basins to the Upper Colorado River, Eagle River Valley and Blue River basins.
Registration for the free event is required, and dinner will be provided.
The State of the River meeting for the Upper Colorado River is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains park in Granby.
