Colorado Springs crime wave: 2 stolen cars, 2 chases, 1 holdup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Colorado Springs police have arrested a man suspected of stealing a cab and an SUV, robbing a drive-through restaurant at gunpoint and leading officers on two chases, all in about 14 hours.

He’s also suspected in a liquor store robbery where a clerk was stabbed.

The taxi was stolen Wednesday night and used in the holdup early Thursday. The SUV was stolen later and then abandoned after running a stop sign and grazing another vehicle.

The suspect was arrested after fleeing from the SUV. Police are searching for a woman they believed was with him for part of the spree.

Police pursued each vehicle but backed off when it became dangerous.

It’s not clear whether the liquor store was robbed before the cab was stolen. The clerk is recovering.
