Colorado water at risk with McCain presidency
August 26, 2008
To the Editor:
John McCain recently proposed that the interstate agreement that allocates the use of the Colorado River be renegotiated to give more water to Arizona (Sen. McCain’s home state) and California and less to Colorado and Utah. This is something that our region can ill-afford.
Sen. McCain should suggest instead that Arizonans do more to conserve water, since his state is a desert and would not naturally support its current level of water usage.
No one who cares about the environment or quality of life in Colorado should vote for John McCain.
