Community support makes Grand Gala a success

To the Editor:On behalf of the Grand Foundation and Grand Gala Committee we would like to thank everyone that made this year’s Grand Gala a huge success. This year’s event was held at the majestic setting at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. This year the annual black-tie fundraiser brought out Grand County philanthropists as they celebrated and meandered through the sprawling ranch setting enjoying varying gourmet menus, lively music and alluring treasures at the silent auction. With over 300 guests in attendance, the evening raised nearly $130,000, which will be used to improve the quality of life for residents and guests in Grand County. Proceeds directly benefit Grand County nonprofits through Grand Foundation grants and programs. Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre was chosen as the secondary beneficiary of the event. They will receive a portion the proceeds which will help to preserve the history of Grand County. In addition, $5,000 will be divided among the East and West Grand School Districts for scholarships which are awarded to seniors who exemplify outstanding community spirit and a strong sense of volunteerism and philanthropy.”The Grand Gala is one of our largest annual fundraisers. The Grand Foundation owes a debt of gratitude to the volunteer committee who creatively develop and direct this event into a great success each year,” said Grand Foundation Executive Director Megan Ledin. “The $900,000 generated since the Gala’s inception has helped strengthen the community. The Grand Gala could not be the success it is without the countless hours that our volunteers contribute during the event.” A special thank you and recognition to all of our volunteers: Jenny Beltman, Rina Blixt, Susan Cambier, Fran Cassidy, Annie Cervenka, Adam Cwiklin, Janet Day, Gigi Dominguez, Robin Dresen, Lucinda Elicker, Stefanie Feek, Art Ferrari, Chris Froetschner, Joan Gaskins, Kathy Gilbertson, Lois Hodne, Marie & Bob Johannes, Lisa Jonas, Anne & Tom Kressler, Becky McBride, Glen McCoy, Joy McCoy, Dave McKnight, Amy Miller, Tricia Muniz, Dave Naples, Stacey O’Brien, Caroline Omeara Enright, Lynda Parker, Cookie Ready, Joann Roberts, Gail Rorabaugh, Sara Sable, Donette Schmiedbauer, Edie Sciuto, Heather Sherland, Wendy Stefanski, Pete & Nancy Strohecker, Matthew Talbott, Jane Tollett, Lou Thompson, Penny & Dennis Troutman, Julie Turner, Heather VandenBroek, Gabriella Vongelbacher, Lloyd Waldron, Amy Wolff, Carol Wolff Jack Zelinski and Laura Zietz. Our sponsors are the driving force behind our accomplishments.
