County residents should keep roads clear for snowplowing

Winter has arrived, and the county is reminding residents and visitors to please park vehicles off the county roadways. County roads must be completely cleared of cars so plows can remove snow as quickly and efficiently as possible. A snow berm, during maintenance, at the end of your driveway is unavoidable.

If you park on a county road on a snow route, you may be towed. Look for snow-route signs posted in the area.

Colorado Revised Statute 43-5-301 states that residents are prohibited from obstructing a county road. Pushing snow out onto a county right-of-way is an obstruction and you may be liable. If you have this work done, make sure your contractor is aware of this regulation.
