County to initiate search for new attorney

Grand County will move forward with soliciting applications for the county attorney position.

The Grand County Board of Commissioners decided that the county would only consider applicants from within Colorado at its Tuesday, April 14 meeting.

Commissioners agreed that elected and appointed officials as well as the public will be able to weigh in on the selection at some point, though they seemed to reject a suggestion that the county hold a “meet and greet” to gather public input into the process.

The salary range for the position is $100,227 to $150,341.

County Manager Lurline Underbrink Curran said her office would work to get the position advertised as soon as possible.

The county will interview candidates on June 18.

County Attorney Anthony “Jack” DiCola has announced plans to resign effective July 1.
