CPW to hold women’s ‘Cast n Blast’ clinic in Kremmling
Are you a woman who’s always wanted to learn the basics of fly-fishing, or how to safely handle and fire a shotgun? Well now’s your chance.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced last week that it would be holding a women’s only “Cast n Blast” clinic in Kremmling on June 10. Participants will learn the foundational skills involved in fishing and shooting while participating in workshops, clinics and seminars. Guests will also go on an educational hunt meant to teach the skills, ethics and traditions of hunting to women new to the sport.
The clinic is offered through Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Hunter Outreach Program, and designed for women 18 and older. No previous experience or equipment is necessary, though participants should dress for the elements and bring necessary supplies like water and sunscreen with them.
The class is $20 and interested parties should pre-register by calling 970-725-6200. This is not a hunter education course, which is required in Colorado to purchase a hunting license. Those looking to attend a hunter education course should visit the CPW website.
