UPDATE: US 40 west of Granby reopens following crash

U.S. Highway 40 is closed about 4 miles west of Granby due to a crash that took place just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from Colorado State Patrol.

The crash, which happened near milepost 208, involved a Ford Expedition, which rolled, and a GMC Sierra, according to the release.



Occupants of both vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital, including the driver of the Sierra and two adults and a child in the Expedition. The child was uninjured, according to the release.

The highway remains closed while officials work to investigate the crash and clear the road. A detour is in place at Grand County Road 57, the release states. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen.
