Crews battle small wildfire north of Boulder
BOULDER (AP) – A wildfire in Lefthand Canyon north of Boulder has forced the evacuation of more than 300 homes.
KCNC-TV in Denver reports homeowners received reverse 911 calls Sunday evening.
The station reports the blaze has burned more than 100 acres.
No structures were immediately threatened by the fire Sunday night.
Maribeth Pecotte, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Forest Service, said the fire is about four miles up the canyon, on Forest Service Land.
A single-engine air tanker and a helicopter were assisting ground crews in the forested area.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
