(Updated) Day 3: Golf Course Fire now 100 percent contained

Update at 8 p.m. Saturday: 

Crews have the Golf Course Fire 100 percent contained, according to the Grand Lake Fire Protection District.

County Road 48 will open to through traffic at 8 p.m. tonight. People are advised to exercise caution if heading into the area as trees may blow over in strong winds.

The fire is on patrol status for the night. Crews will be patrolling intermittently throughout the night.

Agencies will be working throughout the day to transition management of the Golf Course Fire back to Grand Lake Fire Protection District.

The fire is currently 70 percent contained with an anticipated 100 percent containment by end of day, according to the Grand County Office of Emergency Management.

County Road 48 remains closed from County Road 471 to Deer Drive. People are advised not to enter the closed area as it causes interference with fire suppression efforts.

All evacuated residents were permitted to return to their homes last night.
