Delays on Trail Ridge Road

Sky-Hi News staff report

On Monday, Aug. 25, weather permitting, a chip seal project will begin on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park from the Alpine Visitor Center to Rainbow Curve, an approximate 11-mile section.

During the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane, and 30-minute delays can be expected. The project will take place through Friday, Aug. 29. Cyclists and motorcyclists should be prepared for rough road conditions.

Fog sealing will take place after the chip seal has been completed and after the Labor Day weekend. The project is intended to seal and protect the road surface. All facilities and trailheads along this section of road will be open during the project. Work will not take place during the weekends.
