Delphia family grateful for outpouring of community support

To the Editor:Dear Grand County Community,On Jan. 18, our family lost our beautiful daughter and sister, Lindsey Taylor Delphia. The outpouring of love and support that we have received from our community has been nothing less than life-saving. This is our attempt to send a proper thank you to you all, in no particular order. Please also realize that this letter may overlook someone, but that, of course, is not our intent.Parents and educators, thank you for the outstanding young people in this community. Not only did so many of our daughter Kylie’s friends rally round to support her 24/7, they were also there in support of her parents. Anything we asked of them – particularly anything that required computer skills – was done for us in a heartbeat.Thank you to all who provided meals, lodging for family and friends, transportation from DIA for family. Thank you to those of you who shared the loss of a child, for coming to us, sharing your stories, and helping us begin to realize that we are not the only ones grieving, and that our lives will go on.Thank you to all in the East Grand School District, who were some of the first to offer condolences, then rally to offer food, send flowers, and support Kylie. Thank you to Darcee Kissler, who not only spent countless hours creating the perfect tribute to Lindsey in her iMovie, but who was able to do that so beautifully because she “got” Lindsey. And thank you, Darcee, because you also “get” Kylie, our other wonderful daughter.Thank you to Winter Park Resort – all of you! You provided so much support for us, producing the memorial programs, enhancing and enlarging the beautiful picture of our daughter, helping with the sound at the memorial service. A special thank you to the Food & Beverage Department, who not only provided the wonderful food at the service, but supported our family, and Tim in particular, in a way that goes beyond thank you. The spoiled time we spent in Glenwood Springs is soooo appreciated. Thanks for the support from all at B. Jammin’ – there has not been a moment’s worry that things aren’t being handled, or that our family is not being supported.Thank you to our Church family – your guidance and prayerful thoughts were truly felt. Thank you to Tracy and C.A. Lane – your support has been amazing. Thank you to Linda, Chris and Megan Moore, the best friends and neighbors anyone could hope to have. And finally, thank you to all who have donated to the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado in memory of Lindsey. It is our belief that this crazy illness affected Lindsey in more ways than we knew. We are committed to the work of finding the answers that will help combat this illness. We love you all. LOVE. KINDNESS. RESPECT. PASS IT ON. L.T.D.Tim, Gale & Kylie Delphia
