Democrats hold 2nd Senate debate
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Democrats battling for a Senate seat are getting ready for a second debate.
Sen. Michael Bennet and former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff face off at Colorado College in Colorado Springs Friday night.
Romanoff is challenging Bennet, who was appointed to the seat last year. At the last debate, Bennet and Romanoff spent most of the contest agreeing with each other, prompting Democrats to wonder why they should vote against the guy already there.
Friday night’s debate is the last scheduled before the Democratic party’s May 22 statewide assembly. The Democratic nominee won’t be final until an August primary vote.
Republicans seeking the GOP nomination have already had several forum-style debates.
