HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS — The 14th District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Lucas Ackerman, the driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal collision which left one pedestrian dead and four others injured on July 4, south of Grand Lake.

Ackerman has been charged with one count of vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular assault, one count of driving under the influence, and two counts of child abuse. He will be advised of these charges in Grand County District Court this week.

“Criminal charges are merely allegations, and Mr. Ackerman is presumed innocent of all charges unless or until proven guilty,” states a press release sent on Friday, Sept. 13, from the district attorney’s office.
