Dog rescued after crawling into irrigation pipe

MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) – This dog was barking down the wrong pipe.

Montrose County sheriff’s spokeswoman Bobbie McCoid says the mixed-breed beagle apparently entered an 8-inch irrigation pipe in front of a home but couldn’t find its way out after crawling in and then over or around into a smaller section Wednesday.

Deputies had to dig open part of the yard and break open the plastic pipe to rescue the beagle.

McCoid says the dog’s owner was warned against letting her dog run at large.
