Downtown Enhancement program has made Granby inviting again
November 10, 2008
To the Editor:
Granby is finally getting it together. This summer the downtown enhancements made the town look inviting, a nice place to stop and spend time shopping or at a restaurant. The new planters with flowers, the redone landscaping with trees and benches, events banners all added a nice friendly atmosphere to Main Street.
Some restaurants had tables for outside dining. Buildings have been painted and spruced up using town grants. New businesses are occupying space downtown. The events this summer brought people into town: The Taste of Granby, Oktoberfest and Halloween were a huge success.
It all has made a huge impact for bringing the community together and we have seen more progress in Granby in the last two years than in the past 30 years.
Let’s keep the progress moving forward. In times like the present where the economy is in question, we need to keep up the positive momentum not only for our tourism, but for the community.
Keep Granby’s Downtown Enhancement. Attend the Granby Town Budget Meeting today (Tuesday, Nov. 11) and support your downtown and the Main Street Program.
