Dr. Mark Harvey to speak on Saturday Sept. 17
Dr. Mark Harvey, author, biographer, and professor of history at North Dakota State University, will speak at the Church of the Eternal Hills in Tabernash at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Dr. Harvey will discuss how, when, and why the idea of national wilderness systems came about in the 1940s and evolved.
This event is sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service and the Grand County Wilderness Group and will help to celebrate the Wilderness Act of 1964, which will have been in place for 50 years in 2014.
Admission to the event is free and dessert as well as a book signing will follow the presentation.
