Dustin Rhea: Jeff Miller was a ‘special guy’

To the Editor:

Jeff Miller, the snowboarder found dead on Wednesday, was my cousin. His death impacts many people.

I just want everyone to know what a bright light he had. Even as a child Jeff was naturally talented. Jeff mastered every sport he ever tried, from high school sports, to wakeboarding, even bowling. He was a special guy.

He lived a surprisingly full life, and he has gone way too early. His father, Randy Miller, my uncle, is one of the best men I know. Randy devoted his life to making sure Jeff was provided for. Behind every great person there is often a greater parent. Jeff was truly one of the greats.

I am sure he would want us to try and find the good in this. Thank you to everyone who took part in his recovery. My heart goes out to everyone affected by his loss.
