East Grand eight-graders focus on higher education
Eight-graders focus on higher education
GRANBY — East Grand Middle School Students worked the entire year on a service learning project to make Grand County a better place to live, and this year’s winning idea was to bring a community college to Grand County.
Students worked independently to research the needs and benefits of having a community college in our area. They also listened to guest speakers and found out the Grand Foundation is promoting the pursuit of attracting a college to Grand County, with 26 local organizations and individuals having signed a letter of support.
The eighth-graders are now ready to present their findings and are extending a special invitations to town council members, school board members, county commissioners, chambers of commerce, local service and charitable organizations and small business owners. All citizens are welcome to come and listen, ask questions, or provide more information. Refreshments will be provided. Any questions, contact Abby Loberg at aloberg@egsd.org.
