East Grand school officials trying to scare taxpayers

The East Grand School District continues the lament, we may have to close schools. In my mind this is a scare tactic.

They are talking a new 1 percent sales tax. I wish when I was a little short I could raise a tax to get me out of the hole.

I was taught to live within my means, and government agencies should do the same.

Once again I ask: Why two school superintendents when one for the county would be sufficient?

I am not against education, but the school district has to be forced to live within their means and stop hammering the general public. Our economy is bad and the jobless rate is extremely high, food prices are on the rise and the district wants more money. It is time for them to wake up and smell the coffee and make cuts if necessary.
