End the wait list by voting for Amendment 51

Amendment 51 will end the wait list for 16,000 individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Mental Retardation to access critically needed care, through a phased-in sales tax of 2/10 of 1 percent.

Although these people meet the stringent criteria and go through the arduous application process to qualify for services, the wait list is where they end up. These individuals qualify for care there is no funding to receive.

Most Coloradans agree that government has some basic responsibilities to our most vulnerable citizens. For people with developmental disabilities and their families, there is absolutely no safety net or back up options for the vital services they need.

With new funding, Coloradans can immediately provide for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Amendment 51 is a small price, just two cents on every ten dollars, to provide vital services for those through no fault of their own, face

tremendous burdens every day just getting by.
