Breeze at Ski Depot Sports and Vail Resorts Retail will once again be taking donations to benefit the Shining Stars Foundation, their chosen charity.

Epic Promise (formerly Adopt-a-Cause) benefits children with cancer or a life-threatening disease by sponsoring Shining Star athletes to attend the Shining Stars Foundation’s Winter Games in March of each year. All Grand County locations of Breeze at Ski Depot Sports are participating through Jan. 9. Donations will be taken at the registers and Vail Resort Retail will match 50 cents for every dollar raised. To date the Epic Promise Campaign has sponsored six athletes to the Shining Stars Winter Games.

Locations are:

• Ski Depot Sports – Downtown Winter Park

• Ski Depot Sports – Iron Horse Resort

• Ski Depot Sports – The Inn At Silvercreek

• Rocky Mountain Eyewear – Winter Park Resort

During Winter Games, children living with cancer or another life-threatening disease are taken to the slopes in Aspen and given everything they need to ski or ride, including lift tickets, gear, lodging, meals, transportation, and one-on-one adaptive lessons. Most children served have a disability, including muscle weakness, paralysis, and amputation. Over 80 percent of participants are on active treatment for their disease.
