Explosion in Old Town Winter Park, one critically injured

One person was critically injured and airlifted to the University Burn Center in Denver after a gas explosion at a residence in Winter Park. An emergency response helicopter landed at the East Grand Fire Department at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 1.
Xcel Energy was present and officials are unsure if the injured person was a resident or an Xcel employee. An adjacent neighborhood was evacuated on Fir Drive in Old Town near Winter Park Resort.
Fraser/Winter Park Police Department is currently working the scene.
