Indian Peaks Charter School held a community meeting Wed. Feb. 17 to outline plans the school has to transfer to the Colorado Charter School Institute’s school district. The meeting allowed school officials the opportunity to discuss the proposed transfer and to answer questions from parents and community members about how a transfer would be conducted and why Indian Peaks feels the transfer is a good decision. Polly Gallagher (standing at left), Academic Director for the upper grades at Indian Peaks, answers questions from the audience during the meeting while the Indian Peaks Governing Board of Directors looks on. The Charter School Institute has not yet approved or denied Indian Peak’s application to join the charter school district. An official decision on the proposal is expected from the Institute on March 8 this year.
