Fire burns through Sunday night leaving Kremmling duplex a complete loss

A structure fire that started Sunday evening in Kremmling kept firefighters battling the blaze through the night, but its cause and origin are still unknown.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday, Kremmling Fire Department was called to a home on the 500-block of North 11th Street for a fire at a duplex.

The building was evacuated and there were no injuries. However, the duplex was seriously damaged, particularly the roof of the building. It is likely that the structure is a complete loss.

Hot Sulphur Springs Fire Department and  Grand Fire assisted at the scene, as well as Kremmling Police Department, the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and Grand County EMS.

The fire was contained to a single duplex and an investigation is underway to find the origin and cause of the flames.

Firefighters remained on scene Monday morning to ensure that the fire was fully out and to assess the structure.
