Fire department appreciates Grand County’s generosity
To the Editor:
The East Grand volunteer fire fighters would like to thank everyone who helped make the spaghetti dinner benefit for Willy Soles last Friday night (March 28) a success.
While the goal was to raise money to help defer medical costs, the best part of the evening was a chance to visit with each other and share good food.
The fire department is especially grateful to Rich and Mil Holzwarth, who let us use their kitchen to cook Donny’s famous sauce, the Fraser Valley Elementary school for the use of their building, Toni and Randy Barrett at Pizza Hut for their help with the salad, and Sue in the floral department at Safeway for the beautiful flowers and balloons.
We are very grateful for all the generous people who donated to the silent auction, organized by Elle Soles, and for those who purchased items. Special thanks to the talented musicians who played ” Jim Hohytya, Eric Hohytya, Betty Hughes, and Melissa Willman. We appreciate all the people who came, ate dinner and gave. It was a nice reminder of what it means to live in a community filled with people who care. Thanks for your support.
