Shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon officials from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office confirmed reports of a possible wildfire outbreak in an as yet undefined location in the area near Pumphouse and Radium Hot Springs. Authorities believe the fire may be located near the edge of Black Mountain though an exact location was not yet available.
Black Mountain is located slightly northwest of Pumphouse and the Colorado River.
Officials from the Sheriff’s Office said a smoke plume is visible from the Kremmling area. Firefighters from the Kremmling Fire Protection District are responding with assistance from the Sheriff’s Department.
