Firewood permits for the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests are now available for purchase through a new online E-Permit system.

An April 30 Forest Service news release states that permits can be found online at any time and eliminate the need to visit U.S. Forest Service offices.

Forest Supervisor Chris Stubbs said in the release that the E-Permit system will give forest users “flexibility and convenience.”

To learn more about permits and gathering firewood, visit the Forest Service’s forest products webpage at FS.USDA.gov/r02/arp/permits/forest-products or purchase permits at EPermits.FS2c.USDA.gov.

Mushroom, transplant and other forest product permits went on sale May 1.

“The Forest Service will continue to refine and improve the quality of the online permit system and add additional special forest product permits in the future,” the release writes.
