Fishing Corner: Try areas of steep drop-offs to find the lakers
Fishing Corner
The lakers on Granby and Grand lake have gotten tough to catch. A few are still being caught around the steep drop-offs and deeper larger flats and points. The rainbows along the shoreline are hitting a variety of spoons and other hardware. Casting small crank baits close to the banks early in the morning is producing few browns. The Brook trout in the streams around Rocky Mountain National Park and Winter Park are still hitting large dries in the evenings. Pike fishing at Williams fork is still fair, but it should be getting a lot better as the weather starts cooling.
