Former Grand Lake director wanted on felony theft charge
An arrest warrant has been issued for former Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce director Brad Taylor. Taylor is wanted on a charge of Class 4 Felony theft, said Deputy District Attorney Heather Shwayder-Hughes.
The actual charges against Taylor may be amended or new charges added once he is arrested and the charges are officially filed, Shwayder-Hughes added.
The Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce turned its books over to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office last month for investigation after discovering some discrepancies in its 2009 financial data.
In a press release last month, chamber board president Barb McElroy said board members noticed the discrepancies while organizing bank statements and Quickbooks files for an audit.
Brad Taylor resigned from the chamber in January after serving as its director for more than two years. His last day on the job was Jan. 21.
