Former SilverCreek resident Pattie Skates dies

June 18, 1938 to August 7, 2011

Former SilverCreek resident Pattie Skates went home to her Lord on August 7, 2011 in Longmont. She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Samuel and is survived by her husband, Fred L. Skates; sons Samuel Downing, V (Leigh) Andrew, and Greg and daughter Tricia Downing (Steve); two stepsons: Douglas Skates (Trina), Jeffrey Skates (Colleen), and stepdaughter Darcy Winter (Scott); and seven grandchildren.



Pattie was very active in a local P.E.O. group, United Methodist Women, Tri-Town Seniors and Queen Mother of the Tri-Town Red Hatters. While living in Grand County she was a member of the Church of the Eternal Hills, Colorado Presbyterian Cursillo, P.E.O., and Red Hatters. Pattie will be remembered as a very loving, generous, gracious lady who was loved by and touched everyone she met. Friends describe Pattie as inspiring, upbeat and one called her “the most amazing woman I have ever met.”

A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 5th at 10 a.m. at Christ Church United Methodist, 690 Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: The Tri-Town Seniors, 6615 Frederick Way, Frederick, CO 80530; or Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, 4715 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO 80303.
