Former Winter Park resdent Robert A. Sherwood dies in Nebraska home

Robert A. Sherwood, Jr., 51, passed away March 30, 2011, at his home in Lincoln, Neb.

Sherwood was born in Lincoln in 1959, Lincoln to Robert A. and MarthaLee Sherwood. He graduated from Lincoln Southeast High in 1977 and attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He went on to become a computer sales manager and owned Signtech and Signavenue, an e-business. Rob was a creative, talented and patient man. His camera was always loaded and ready to make memories for his family and friends. As a father, he doted upon his two beautiful daughters. As a brother, he allowed his sisters to have their way. As a son he made his parents proud. As a friend he was loyal.

Sherwood spent three years in Winter Park from 1986 To 1989. He worked as the manager of the SportStalker store and stayed very involved with a host of community events. He served as president of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and played a key role in the development of Winter Wild West Week, High Country Stampede Rodeo and the Winter Park Jazz Festival.

He is survived by daughters Margaret and Jennifer; mother MarthaLee; sisters Becky and Gina; brother-in-law, Rick Klein; and various cousins, nieces, nephews and his K-9 and feline friends Buddy and Bella.

Funeral Services were held April 6, 2011, in Lincoln, Neb. Memorial Gifts may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Lincoln Chapter, 2120 S. 56th, Ste. 206, Lincoln, NE 68506.
