Fraser: Colorado Adventure Park now open for tubing, snow scoots

The Colorado Adventure Park is now open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with snow tubing and snow scoots. Snow tubing begins at the top of each hour and reservations are recommended. Any child age 3 years or older is welcome to participate in snow tubing. Those interested in riding snow scoots must be between 5 and 12 years of age and be less than 110 lbs.

Helmets are required for all participants for both tubing and snow scoots. Helmets may be rented at the Colorado Adventure Park or brought from home. This weekend, the rate for tubing is $12 per person, per hour and $10 per person for a snow scoot session. Helmet rental is $2 per person.

Future plans for the park include an ice skating rink, a snow play area with an igloo/icehouse, ski jumps, sledding, cross-country skiing and an upscale rustic lodge for concessions, rentals and storage. The lodge will also have a large sun deck for watching the activities and relaxing.

To get to the Colorado Adventure Park, turn west at the stoplight next to Safeway onto County Road 72. After the railroad underpass, turn right. Parking is located at the base of the hill along County Road 721. For more information, contact the Colorado Adventure Park at 970-726-5779 or http://www.coloradoadventurepark.com.
