Fraser library hosts avalanche safety class

Includes special guest appearances from Winter Park Ski Patrol dogs

Recreators can learn how to stay safe in the backcountry during an Avalanche Safety 101 class on Dec. 14.

The class takes place at the Fraser Valley Library from 2-3:15 p.m. Presented by Austin DiVesta from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, this session covers essential safety tips for various travel modes.

Avalanche Safety 101 is an informative class for all ages, teaching you how to stay safe in avalanche terrain.



The Winter Park Ski Patrol Dog Team will join at the end of the presentation to talk about its program, with special guest appearances from Biskit and Gravy, and their handlers. 

Registration for the program is strongly encouraged due to space limitations. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Register at the Grand County Library District website at GCLD.LibraryCalendar.com/Events.
