Fraser main street study begins

The Town of Fraser has received a grant from the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) to participate in a Community Revitalization Partnership Program.

DOLA and Downtown Colorado Inc. have teamed up to coordinate this program, which involves a two-day technical assistance visit to the town.

The program is designed to provide downtown revitalization and economic development assistance to Colorado communities. Focusing on current conditions in the business district, a team of three to five professionals will evaluate the community and facilitate focus groups on Aug. 17 to provide information about the strengths and opportunities of the business district, as well as creating the foundation from which a work plan can be developed.

The visit will conclude with a presentation to the public (at the Town Board meeting on Aug. 18) providing an assessment of the community and action steps. Residents, property owners and business owners are urged to participate.

“We believe the success of our business community is vital to the success and future of the entire community,” said Fraser Town Planner Catherine Trotter.
