Fraser may see second summer music festival

The promoter responsible for Winter Park Wipeout hopes to hold a music festival near Fraser in July.

Jason Ornstein with Denver-based Team Player Productions Inc. told the Fraser Board of Trustees at its Jan. 6 meeting that his organization had already applied to Grand County for a temporary use permit for the Divide Music Festival.

The festival, currently scheduled for July 22, 23 and 24, would be held at the Colorado Adventure Park, the same site as the already-permitted Touch the Sun Music Festival, and could see around 8,000 guests per day, Ornstein said.

There would also be camping for around 3,000 guests.

The festival would showcase a mix of pop and adult contemporary music geared toward families and young adults, Ornstein said.

“We’re looking to really revive the old Winter Park music festival and bring it a little bit more up to speed and into this new generation of music and festival goers,” Ornstein said.

The Grand County Board of Commissioners will hold a temporary use permit hearing for the festival on January 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the County Administration Building in Hot Sulphur Springs.
