Fraser prepares to annex East Grand Fire Station
February 25, 2009
Last week, the Fraser Board of Trustees began the process of annexing the East Grand Fire Station into the town of Fraser. The building and surrounding land is now located in the county and surrounded on all sides by the town of Fraser.
Annexing something as small as one building and the few yards of land around it should be simple, said Fraser town manager Jeff Durbin, “but it may as well be 700 acres because the process is not different.”
The East Grand Fire District has submitted a petition for annexation of the building and a hearing has been set for April 1.
“Everyone thought you were in Fraser anyway,” said Fraser Mayor Fran Cook.
