Fraser Rec District Board can’t get its story straight about hotel connection

To the Editor:

This is the best. In July the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District board states (can be found in the minutes) that there will be no physical connection of a hotel to the rec center.

Then they proceed to sign a contract with Grand Park that includes a reversion clause that does exactly that. Then in September the board denies knowledge of the reversion clause regarding the hotel access.

In last Tuesday’s article, all of a sudden the board recognizes the clause, but says that the district is not financially responsible for the connection. In fact at the meeting Ms. Sands said that she was in favor of the hotel connection all along.

Although the board stated that the building was not designed with a specific access point, Clark Lipscomb told those assembled exactly where the access to the hotel was in the plans. What’s going on here?

It appears that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. This kind of confusion is exactly why we have the recall petition. Sign today.
