Fraser Rec District recall backers need to answer some questions

To the Editor:I attended the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District Board Meeting to try to learn what is really going on with the recall of the members of the board that have given so much of their time to try to make our valley an even better place to live and raise families. There were many important questions presented to the small group of “concerned citizens” present. Mr. (Pat) Rupert and his cronies refused to answer any of questions directly themselves; instead they let their lawyer sidestep or put a political spin on every concern presented. It appears they have no answers and their only agenda is childish rabble rousing intended to alienate them from our small, normally happy community.Mr. Rupert & Co., stand up, speak for yourselves, if you have a leg to stand on, stand on it. Your lawyer (I hope you are paying him, not my tax dollars) did all lawyers proud with his spins and “lawyerspeak,” but sooner or later you will need to face your friends and neighbors and represent yourselves. Now is the time. I challenge you to answer the questions proposed at the meeting, in this forum, in your words. If you cannot or will not, then fire the lawyer, drop the costly legal proceedings, try to repair your friendships and business relations and get on with life in the Fraser Valley as it is meant to be.Mike MasonTabernash
