Fraser Rec District should build on other parcel
To the Editor:This is an open letter to the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District:I urge you to immediately accept the recent, wonderful offer of about five acres of land for a new recreation center, offered by Grand County Water & Sanitation District No. 1 (with about two additional acres being offered by their neighbor, Rendezvous), WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED.Grand County Water & San. would NOT insist on any specific name for the new rec center, and the Fraser rec District could name the new center anything they (and we) want. One example of a name, could be the Fraser Valley Recreation Center (NOT Grand Park in the name.).This location (on the east side of Highway 40) would allow locals & visitors to easily access both a pond and the Fraser River Trail, both right there. Its too bad Fraser granted a building permit for the rec center. Breaking ground on the rec center should be delayed until all the troublesome issues have been resolved to our satisfaction, since it would be our taxes that would pay for this new rec center.Carol SidofskyFraser Valley
