Tuesday is Election Day for voters in the Fraser Metropolitan Recreation District. By the end of tonight, three rec board members up for recall will know if they will keep their seats for the remainder of their term or if they will be replaced.

Six people put their names in the ring to replace three board members up for recall ” Dan O’Connell, Beth Sands and Pete Strohecker.

Kevin Davlin and Kyle Harris are running to replace Dan O’Connell. Darrell Jackie Woods and Andrew Chasin are running to replace Beth Sands. Jon deVos and John Glancey are running for Pete Strohecker’s seat.

East Grand Fire Station on U.S. Highway 40 in Fraser is the polling place for today’s election and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Ballots will be driven to Hot Sulphur Springs for counting by the Grand County Clerk and Recorder’s office after the polls close.

Since there is only one precinct to count, results are expected not long after the ballots are delivered.

Start checking the Sky-Hi Daily News Web site around 10 p.m. for results. Editor Autumn Phillips will stay in touch with election official Todd Holzwarth and post updates if results are not available for some reason by that time.

The ballot is broken into three sections ” one for each recall effort. Within each section will be a question to recall or not recall a board member.

Voters must answer “yes” or “no” on the recall of board members in order to vote on the replacements for any recalled board members, Holzwarth said.

Voters may choose a replacement, even if they vote “no” on the recall.
